In this week’s Halo Group blog we take a look back to the launch of KERB Camden, the new, revamped street food London market redesigned and built by The Halo Group in partnership with the owners (Camden Market) and operators (Kerb).
Camden’s maze of intertwining alleys and side streets welcome many tourists each year looking for that “authentic” London experience but time had taken its toll on the market. Previously, the West Yard was an over-crowded mismatch of trader stands in dire need of modernisation. This is how it looked before the project was completed.

Back in the spring of 2016 when Kerb first took over the market they immediately received rave reviews for their huge spread of exception culinary offerings. Amongst many plaudits this even including being voted one of Time Out’s top restaurant openings of 2016. After a successful start, Kerb then approached The Halo Group and the design process began from there. Here’s how the regeneration has changed the space.
Although markedly different from the prior look and feel of the market, this modernised design mirrors London’s reputation as a forward thinking capital. In terms of how much the West Court has changed in terms of original character it has more than gained in terms of progressiveness. It is our belief that this is the authentic London experience visitors and local residents have been searching for – a world class street food market that’s as functional and welcoming for visitors as it is visually appealing.
The new market boasts 34 new stalls designed with the modern trader in mind. Generously spaced around the canal-side, site flow has been hugely improved making the space much more visitor friendly. The revamp now includes 5 new street food traders added to this already successful venture.
The Kerb launch party encapsulated the vibrancy of this redevelopment project perfectly, creating a buzzing hub in the heart of North London. The Halo Group is immensely proud of our input into this project and the contribution it has made to very fabric of our great capital.
