Global Gathering – What’s to come

April 24, 2013

In 2013 The Halo Group  has won the contract for site wide creative production at GlobalGathering. The following announcement details some of the festivals plans for the event.

In a year of significant change to the festival, GlobalGathering Group Managing Director, Gary Turner talks about the on site changes to Long Marston Airfield and the new approach to creative production at GlobalGathering 2013.

“This is an incredibly dynamic time for festivals around the world and as the first truly global dance music festival GlobalGathering will be, as ever, trail blazing in 2013.

This summer our new ‘Industrial Cubism’ look and feel production will take GlobalGathering fans’ festival participation to another level by providing a truly immersive and universal dance music experience.

Cubism arose out of the need to define and represent the modern reality that was complex and culturally diverse, with time, motion and space being experienced dynamically. This summer we will transport our festival goers into a world of expanding visions with a heightened festival experience created through an industrial and modern platform. It’s definitely going to be the most exciting and unique festival we have ever delivered and a truly unique experience for all our fans.

This year we’ve also extended the footprint of the music arena, allowing us to add two further arenas and even more of the finest artists within the electronic music sphere.

GlobalGathering has always been a pioneer for future headliners and is proud to nurture rising stars. Our fans are discerning music lovers, they know what’s what, and we’ve gone above and beyond with our talent booking this year featuring upcoming acts like Dimension, Metrik, Subb-an, Omnia and George Fitzgerald to young producers like Hucci. The diversity and quality of talent, from the first act to the headlining artist, keeps the offering fresh and unique and gives our fans the opportunity to discover even more great new music over the weekend.

The GlobalGathering team is thrilled with the changes we are making this year. From the brand new on site production never before seen at a UK dance festival as well as all the fantastic new music on offer, we’re confident GlobalGathering 2013 will be THE experience for dance music fans this year.”

The VIP Woods

A relaxed boutique area by day and a vivid illuminated haven by night, the VIP Woods will be a magical place to be in 2013. Lose yourself in this clandestine spot until the early hours with secret DJ performances and soak up the VIP vibe.

The Hub Club
In the beating heart of the woodland amongst the tree-tops you will find the community HUB CLUB.  Two hand-built tree-houses will host the VIP bar and VIP club, with a secret DJ line up that plays out to the courtyard below. Upstairs a ruby red ambient retreat awaits with low-level Bedouin style dressing and giant cushions.

Nestled amongst the trees is another exciting addition to the festival, “GLOBAL SPRINGS”. This woodland mini spa resort promises a brand new experience even fro regulars to the festival. Make sure you check yourself in to this relaxing refuge of luxury wooden hot tubs complete with solar showers, wig-wam hang outs and hammocks. Taking bookings of up to six people per hot tub, you can book yourself and your friends in for a reviving recharge ready for a night of partying in true Global style.

Global Springs
Stepping through an oversized gilt frame doorway, the BOUTIQUE TREE presents random oddities hidden amongst the branches and funny photo opportunities to capture moments of amusement. Just metres away, SPECTRUM REFLECTION bounces colour and light around a dazzling tree to create an immersive hideout of bright rainbow spectrums, light refraction prisms, and disco balls.  And at the back of the woodland, LAZY DAZE brings an ultimate VIP style chill out zone with hand built beds, each uniquely dressed in a different theme with colourful draping, chimes, and décor hanging in the trees above.

With fairy lit trees, colourful lighting and décor throughout, the enchanting style of the woodland comes to life after dark hours. Don’t miss this secret playground for adults, nestled far away from the throng on the main festival.

The VIP Fields are a place to enjoy delicious food and drink in a spacious and exclusive environment. Assuming a fort-like position in the middle of the fields you will also find ADVENTURE ISLAND, a place to let your inner child run free. Complete with den-huts for group hideouts, ladders and mini drawbridges, this centerpiece is a natural meeting spot made up of open decking with bright sleeper benching housed by stretched canopies high above.

Adventure Island
The BOOMSHACKALACKS return this year giving guests refuge with a new artistic look of bright geometric designs complete with built in seating. When the sun is shining, friends can kick back together in THE NEST, low hung cargo nets that provide an oversized group hammock hang out.

This is just the start  of our plans…watch this space for more details coming soon…
