Working in conjunction with ‘Background Bars’ The Halo Group were commisioned to design and build an immersive food and drink pop up during the 6 weeks lead up to Christmas.
Using our modular structure we transformed an East London Car Park in Dalston with a raised viewing platform covered by a stretch canopy, shielding it from jack frost and the winter elements. An array of lighting illuminated the space with fairy curtains, festoon lighting, up lights and colour washes.
Our production took inspiration from reclaimed materials such as pallet furniture, cable reels, painted oil drums and an complementary mix of vintage bric-a-brac giving the overall design charm and charter.
The different bars at Night Tales offered a selection of unusual drinks to cater for all tastes. “Tales of Mezcal” on the mezzanine for example showcased Mezcal tasting menus whilst the “Negroni Station” offered a variety of Negronis including winter warmers such as spiced Negroni, mulled wine, hot spiced cider, absinthe hot chocolate and hot toddies.
Some of London’s finest pop up vendors also featured at the event such as BAO-Taiwanese steam pork buns, and soya milk fried chicken, Smokey Tails serving delicious BBQ joints and the most popular Patty and Bun serving the “Jazzy Jeffrey” burger, a succulent aged beef patty with bacon, cheese, mayo, jalapeno and piquillo peppers in a brioche bun amongst many other treats.
As a featured food vendor, Smokey Tails founders Seth Troxler and Ryan Crosson ensured music was a prominent feature on all nights the activation ran. Musical takeover from the likes of “The Vortex Jazz Club”, “Kerri Chandler’s MadTech Records”, “You Are We Sound System” and “Road To Nowhere Sound System” ensured a world soundscape provided the back drop to each night.
The Halo Group’s partnership with Background Bars & Bootstrap ensured a highly functional and visually stunning delivery that was covered by multiple press articles, blogs and features-the series of events was truly the talk of the town.
