The Halo Group specialises in the supply of festival structures, large scale experiential production solutions and specialist brand activation services. Our modular steel frame system can be used to create temporary structures and venues, pop-up or touring consumer campaigns and bespoke solutions for a wide range of briefs. In 2016 we worked with London based agency Octagon on behalf of their client MasterCard who were one of the sponsors of the UEFA Champions League. This exciting project used many of our core products and services to produce a spectacular activation for the end client and the public to engage with.
Our initial brief was to propose a solution to achieve a 2 storey structure which could be fitted out with a bespoke interior and provide a blank canvas on the exterior for the application of MasterCard's campaign branding material. Customisation was a key part of this brief so our team set to work to help MasterCard achieve something truly memorable.
Many different festival structures and temporary venues were considered prior to approaching The Halo Group however they lacked the ability to provide a completely bespoke tailor made solution for the project. With distinctly different aesthetics featuring on the exterior and interior, the solution needed to be highly flexible so as to be able to incorporate the different finishes in line with the brief. The client also needed a structure which could support a large outdoor display screen which would be directly attached to the frame. Very few festival structures or temporary venues are able to achieve this without scaffolding, truss work or additional support so our proposal needed to answer this important part of the activation's criteria. Further bespoke elements also needed to be incorporated into the design such as fitted windows, storage areas and other features so a modular solution was essential to answer the brief.
The first step to answering the brief was to produce visuals to illustrate to the end client how their branding would look attached to our frame system. Using our specialist build knowledge, we built a model in Sketchup before rendering out the final visuals in Cinema 4D for demonstration purposes. Once singed off by the client our brief was to recreate an exact replica onsite.
Our steel build crew are specialists within the field of festival structures and have many years experience working on projects for festival organisers, experiential agencies, brands direct and also working in partnership with suppliers. Our unique steel system is made up of many different length of RSJ beams, connector bolts and specialist components. It can be assembled in almost any configuration or design, it can even be built over multiple levels by hand, removing the need for heavy plant or lifting equipment when budgets are constrained. Our festival structures can be built to fit any footprint and will answer many different briefs. Its modular design means it is adaptable and scalable making it ideal for multi location festival tours with alternating footprints.
On the MasterCard activation, The Halo Group designed and built the structure frame as well as fitting the structure's cladding, flooring, roofing and all panelling. This provided Octagon's branding and scenic team with a complete, fully weatherproof blank canvas to apply the final finish. The Halo Group specialises in providing ready made solutions for a broad range of project requirements and we are able to offer options to clients that our competitors cannot. Free from the constraints of traditional marquees, truss work structures or scaffolding, our design team are able to think outside the box to help our clients realise their vision, no matter how complex it might be. Our system can be clad in virtually any material so no matter what look you are aiming to achieve ,The Halo Group's festival structures offer unrivalled creativity and versatility to brands and organisers alike.
Our modular festival structures are fully customisable and easy for 3rd party suppliers to use. Practical features such as having M16 bolt holes at every 500mm on every beam and the ability to work in standard sheet size dimensions or larger dimensions mean suppliers are able to quickly understand how they can work with all our festival structures and temporary venues thus streamlining production onsite. We also supply full technical drawings for all our structure build projects to ensure clear and concise information is shared before any work commences on location.
Production items such as AV equipment, screens, speakers and so forth are also easily incorporated into our festival structures and can be affixed directly to our frames without the need for further support. An example of this can be found in the MasterCard case study with the large outdoor display screen prominently featuring on the front facia of the structure. Windows fabricated by The Halo Group using perspex were also fitted along with a range of other production features to complete the look.
